Your DEX Digital Badge is a Verifiable Credential
The badge shows the certification level earned and the date it was issued. Anyone can verify it by entering the credential ID at the public registry.
What Is a DEX Digital Badge?
A DEX digital badge is a verifiable digital credential. It is issued after a candidate passes the DEX assessment at the relevant certification level.
Anyone can verify a DEX badge by visiting the public registry and entering the credential ID. The credential ID is provided by the holder. No account is required to complete verification.
DEX badges are issued through a secure credentialing platform. The platform connects directly to the DEX registry. Organisations use the platform to view and confirm credential records.
What the Badge Shows
Each DEX digital badge contains verified information from the DEX registry.
Name
The full legal name of the credential holder, as recorded in the DEX registry at the time of certification.
Certification Level
The certification level earned by the holder: DEX-A, DEX-P, DEX-M, or DEX-PF. The level reflects the scope of responsibility assessed.
Date
The date the credential was issued and the date it expires. The badge does not show assessment scores, contact information, or any personal details beyond what is listed here.
Where to Share Your Badge
The DEX digital badge can be displayed across professional profiles and documents.
Add the DEX credential to the Licences and Certifications section of a LinkedIn profile. Enter the credential ID as the licence number. The link allows anyone to verify the credential directly.

How Employers Verify a Badge
Verification takes seconds and requires no account or registration.
Step 1: Ask the credential holder for their credential ID.
Step 2: Enter the credential ID at the public registry. The registry shows the holder's name, certification level, issue date, and current status. Status is shown as Active, Expired, Suspended, or Revoked.
Step 3: Verification is complete. No account is required. No registration is needed.
The registry confirms that the credential was issued by DEX and reflects its current status. The result is available immediately.
How the Badge Is Secured
Each badge is tied to a unique record in the DEX registry.
Unique Metadata
Each badge contains unique metadata linked to the credential holder's record in the DEX registry. The metadata identifies the holder, the certification level, and the issue date.
Live Verification
The badge links to the live DEX registry. Status reflects the current state of the credential: Active, Expired, Suspended, or Revoked. The link updates in real time.
Tamper Resistance
The badge metadata cannot be altered after issuance. Any modification to the badge breaks the verification link and flags the credential as invalid.
Platform Integrity
The credentialing platform is maintained by DEX. The DEX registry is the authoritative source of credential status. No third party can alter a credential record.
How to Claim a Badge
Badges are issued automatically after a successful assessment.
Step 1: Pass the DEX assessment at the relevant certification level.
Step 2: A digital badge is issued automatically upon successful completion of the assessment.
Step 3: Accept the badge through the link sent to the registered email address. The link connects to the credentialing platform.
If the badge invitation is not received within 48 hours of assessment completion, contact support@askfordex.ca.
Badge Renewal
DEX certifications are valid for 12 months. The digital badge updates automatically when the certification is renewed.
If a certification is not renewed before it expires, the badge status changes to Expired. Completing a renewal assessment restores Active status to the credential.
Verify a Credential or Claim a Badge
Enter a credential ID to confirm a DEX certification. Verification is open and free for employers, recruiters, and anyone checking a candidate’s credentials.
