Put in the code. See the result.

Someone has given you a code from their Dex certificate. Type it in the box. You will see what is on their certificate. It is free. It takes seconds.

Type the code the way it was given to you. Letters and numbers, with the dashes.

Below is what a successful check looks like. The four pieces of information shown are the same four that appear on the holder's certificate. Nothing more.

WHAT THE FOUR THINGS MEAN

What you are looking at.

The result shows four things about the person who earned the certificate. Here is what each one tells you.

Their name

The name they signed up with. The same name they will give you on their resume or in your conversation.

Their path and field of work

The path they passed and the field where they took the test. Like Specialist Healthcare. Or Team Leader Marketing. This is the work the certificate covers.

The date

The day they passed. So you know when the work was checked.

Active or not

Active means the certificate is current today. Not active means it is older than 12 months and has not been renewed.

IF THE CODE DOES NOT WORK

If the code does not work, here is what to do.

Most of the time, a code that fails is a typing problem. Try these three things. If the code still does not work after all three, write to us at support@askfordex.ca.

Check the letters

Make sure every letter and number is in the right order. A missed dash will fail the check.

Remove extra spaces

If you copied and pasted the code, delete any space before or after it.

Ask for the code again

The person who earned the certificate can send the code to you again.

That is the whole check.

If you also do this kind of work yourself, you can pick a path on the certification page. If you want to know how the test works before you start, the How it works page walks you through it.
