You Serve the Public Every Day. Your Professional Readiness Deserves a Signal That Matches.
You manage programmes, enforce regulations, coordinate across agencies, and deliver services that millions rely on. But inside or outside government, your actual capability is hard to prove without the right title or the right tenure. DEX (Government) certifies your professional readiness within the public sector, verified by outside assessment.
The Signal Problem
In government, progression is often tied to classification level and years of service, not to demonstrated professional readiness. You may be operating two levels above your title, but the system sees your grade, not your capability.
Outside government, public sector experience is routinely discounted. Private employers struggle to read what a policy analyst or programme officer actually does. The result is the same: your readiness is real, and the signals do not reflect it.
If you are a public servant, a regulatory officer, a programme manager, or a municipal administrator, you have seen capable people passed over because the system could not read them. DEX gives you a signal that can.
What DEX Certification Proves
A DEX (Government) credential tells employers and institutions that you have been assessed by an outside body for professional readiness within the public sector. It proves you can manage programmes, coordinate across agencies, make sound decisions under constraints, and deliver public outcomes at a verified level.
This is not a classification reclassification or a civil service exam. It is an external, verified signal that your professional capability has been assessed by an outside body against a defined standard.
The credential is publicly verifiable, renews every 12 months, and travels with you regardless of which level of government you serve or whether you move to the private sector.
Four Levels of Readiness
DEX is open-entry. Candidates may attempt the level they believe matches their current readiness.
DEX-A Associate Recommended starting point if you are entering public service, supporting programme delivery, or coordinating administrative functions. You contribute within structured systems and deliver work to standard.
DEX-P Professional Recommended starting point if you manage policy files, regulatory processes, or programme operations without continuous oversight. You own your area and deliver dependable results.
DEX-M Management Recommended starting point if you lead public sector teams, manage cross-agency coordination, or govern programme delivery. You are accountable for outcomes delivered through others.
DEX-PF Portfolio Recommended starting point if you set strategy across multiple programmes, agencies, or policy domains. You manage budgets, stakeholders, and public outcomes at the portfolio level.
