Practical Tools for Hiring Teams
DEX credentials give you a consistent, verifiable signal of professional readiness. This page provides the resources your team needs to use DEX effectively in hiring, workforce planning, and vendor evaluation.
How to Verify a DEX Credential
The DEX public verification registry allows any employer, client, or procurement team to confirm a candidate's credential status in real time. No account required.
Navigate to the DEX Verification Registry. Ask the candidate for their unique credential ID. Enter that credential ID into the registry. Review the results, which display: credential level, issue date, expiry date, and current status. Save or screenshot the result for your records if needed.
Verification is free and available to anyone. There is no limit on the number of lookups.
Understanding DEX Levels in a Hiring Context
DEX certifies professional readiness at four levels. Each level reflects a distinct scope of responsibility and judgement.
DEX-A Associate
Candidates at this level have demonstrated readiness for structured, supervised professional work. Suitable for entry-level and early-career roles where guidance is available.
DEX-P Professional
Candidates at this level have demonstrated readiness for professional work without continuous oversight. Suitable for mid-level roles requiring autonomous judgement and consistent output.
DEX-M Management
Candidates at this level have demonstrated readiness to lead teams and manage operational outcomes. Suitable for roles involving people management, project oversight, and cross-functional coordination.
DEX-PF Portfolio
Candidates at this level have demonstrated readiness to oversee multiple programmes, strategic initiatives, or business units. Suitable for senior leadership and executive-level roles.
Sample Job Posting Language
You may reference DEX credentials in job postings to signal the level of professional readiness you expect.
For a DEX-A level role: "DEX-A certification (or equivalent demonstrated professional readiness) is considered an asset for this position."
For a DEX-P level role: "Candidates holding a DEX-P credential are encouraged to apply. The role requires professional judgement without continuous supervision and consistent delivery."
For a DEX-M level role: "A DEX-M credential is preferred. This position involves team leadership and cross-functional coordination."
For a DEX-PF level role: "DEX-PF certification is valued for this senior leadership role, which involves oversight of multiple strategic programmes."
A DEX credential is one signal among many in a hiring decision. It confirms demonstrated readiness at a given level but does not replace assessment of domain expertise, cultural fit, references, or other evaluation criteria your organisation uses.
Workforce Planning with DEX Levels
DEX levels provide a shared vocabulary for professional readiness that works across departments and industries.
Internal Benchmarking
Map your existing roles to DEX levels to create a consistent framework for performance conversations and career progression.
Succession Planning
Identify team members whose DEX level aligns with upcoming leadership needs. A DEX-P holder demonstrating management capabilities may be a candidate for a DEX-M level role.
Vendor and Contractor Evaluation
When engaging external professionals, a verified DEX credential provides a baseline readiness indicator that does not depend on self-reported experience.
Team Composition
Use DEX levels to assess the distribution of readiness across a team. A team staffed entirely at one level may benefit from a broader range.
