What Is DEX Membership?

DEX membership gives you access to lower assessment prices and a free study guide with each assessment. It costs $89 CAD per year. It works across all four certification levels and all ten industries.

Membership is separate from certification. If you are a member but have not passed an assessment, you are not certified. If your membership ends but your certification is still valid, you stay certified until it expires.

Membership changes your price and your access. It does not change what the credential means.

What You Get as a Member

Save $100 on Every Assessment

Members pay less for every DEX assessment. The saving is $100 at every level.

This applies to first assessments, renewals, and level progressions. All prices are in Canadian dollars.

Study Guide Included

Members receive a study guide at no extra cost with each assessment they take. Each study guide is written for the specific certification you are working toward. It covers the band and the industry of your assessment.

Without membership, the study guide costs $49 CAD.

Member Pricing on Retakes

If you do not pass on your first try, you can retake the assessment at 50% of your member price. Each retake uses a different set of questions. You can retake as many times as you need.

Works Across All Levels and Industries

One membership covers everything. You do not need a separate membership for each level or each industry. Whether you are working toward DEX-A or DEX-PF, your membership applies.

DEX certifies readiness across ten industries: Arts, DaaS, Education, Energy, Government, Healthcare, Human Resources, Marketing, Nonprofit/NGOs, and Utilities. Your membership works in all of them.

If you earn more than one credential, membership covers every assessment you take. You pay the member price each time. You receive a study guide with each one.

Bundles: Membership Plus Assessment

If you are new to DEX, a bundle is the simplest way to start. Each bundle includes one year of membership, one assessment at the member price, and the study guide.

What Membership Does Not Do

Membership does not make you certified. Certification requires passing an independently assessed examination. A member who has not passed is not a DEX-certified professional.

Membership does not grant professional status. It does not imply that your skills have been assessed. It does not replace certification.

Membership does not guarantee employment or a salary outcome. DEX certification is a readiness signal. How employers use that signal depends on many factors outside of DEX.

Certification Stays Valid After Membership Ends

Your certification is valid for 24 months from the date you pass. If your membership ends during that time, your certification does not end with it. You stay certified until your certification expires.

To renew your certification, you retake the assessment. Active members pay the member rate for renewals.

How to Join

Membership costs $89 CAD per year. It renews on your anniversary date each year. You can join on its own or as part of a bundle.
