A certification that does not renew is not a signal.
Every Dex certification is issued for twelve months. Each year, the evidence is refreshed and the record is renewed — because capability changes, and a stale claim is a weak one.
Capability is perishable.
Leadership changes. People leave. AI reshapes roles. A business pivots and yesterday’s capability profile no longer fits the model. A certification that ignored this would decay into a marketing badge — so Dex certifications expire by design.

Re-evidence what changed. Confirm what held.
Recertification is not a repeat of the full first-year pathway. It focuses on movement: what changed in scope, people, leadership, and governance — and whether the standard is still met.
The status is public either way.
Renewal is a credibility feature, not an administrative burden. The public record always shows the current state — that is what makes the signal worth carrying.
Renewed
The standard was met again for a new twelve-month period. The record shows the new dates.
Expired
The period lapsed without renewal. Certification language may no longer be used.
Under review
Evidence is being re-examined. The record says so — openly.
Revoked
The claim was withdrawn for cause. The record shows that too.
A claim worth making is worth renewing.
Certified companies receive their renewal date and priorities at issue. If your certification is approaching expiry, start the renewal conversation early.
