Industries

Capability looks different in every operating environment.

DEX does not force every company into the same mould. A company's capability requirements depend on its business model, market, workforce, operating environment, public visibility, regulatory exposure, technology dependence, and growth demands. DEX uses context-calibrated assessment to understand capability where work actually happens.

Industry versus domain

Industries are entry points. Domains are where capability is assessed.

A B2B buyer may think in industries. DEX assesses capability through domains. Those are not the same thing.

Industry pathways help buyers understand likely capability pressures. They are not separate DEX certification products unless a defined certification scope and assessment pathway are approved.

Important: DEX certification does not replace licensure, regulated professional credentials, legal authority, trade certification, security clearance, clinical authorisation, statutory compliance obligations, or employer due diligence. This applies in all industries.

Example: Healthcare organisations

A healthcare organisation may require capability evidence across:

HC
Healthcare
DA
Data & Analytics
IT
Information Technology
LG
Legal
HR
Human Resources
AF
Accounting & Finance
MG
Marketing & Growth
GP
Gov. & Public Service

The company should not assume that Healthcare capability covers every function inside the organisation.

Canonical DEX assessment domains

Sixteen domains across professional practice.

DEX domains define where capability is assessed. A company operating in one industry may require capability across several of these domains.

Industry review offer

Map the company before selecting the pathway.

DEX Industry Review helps companies identify relevant assessment domains, certification scope, participating workforce groups, leadership feedback needs, capability risks, a pilot starting point, and a company certification path.

Each industry pathway should explain:

What capability pressures exist in this industry?
Which DEX domains may be relevant?
Which roles or functions may need assessment?
What leadership or operating-system risks are common?
How could company certification apply?
What should the company not infer?
What lead action should the buyer take?
